Lichfield Delivery Process

This is a short document outlineing our delivery process - for any questions please contact our team via email: lichfieldshedsandcabins@gmail.com or phone 027 846 0004

1) DELIVERY AREAS & TIMEFRAMES

We dispatch from our base in Tokoroa, Waikato and deliver throughout the North Island.

Typical delivery timeframe:
Orders generally arrive the next day, after build & quality checks are complete, or a time of your choosing.

Build / dispatch timing:
Our sheds and cabins are made to order, so build times can vary. We can confirm your expected timeframe before you commit.

2) DELIVERY PRICING (HOW IT'S CALCULATED)

Delivery costs are based on:

  • Distance from our Tokoroa base ($1.5 per-km pricing)
  • Time on site required for delivery. Our first hour onsite is free and then each hour after is charged out at $200/hr.
  • Product size and transport requirements
  • Site access and placement needs (e.g., tight driveways, steep slopes)

Want a quick estimate?
Send us your delivery location (town or address) and the model you’re interested in, where on the property it needs to go and we’ll provide a clear delivery quote.

3) SITE ACCESS & PLACEMENT

To deliver safely, we need practical access for a trailer and enough room to place your shed or cabin.

Please let us know if your site has:

  • Narrow gates/driveways or limited turning space
  • Steep, soft, or uneven ground
  • Overhead wires, trees, or low eaves
  • Tight corners, retaining walls, or raised platforms
  • Rural access, long gravel drives, or wet/soft paddocks

Tip: If you’re unsure, send a couple of photos of the driveway and placement area - we’ll advise early.

4) HOW TO PREPARE FOR DELIVERY

Before delivery day:

  • Clear a safe path to the placement area
  • Mark the spot where you want the shed/cabin positioned
  • Ensure the area is reasonably level and stable
  • Keep pets and vehicles out of the delivery zone
  • Have someone available on site (if required) to confirm placement

On delivery:

  • We’ll place the shed/cabin as close as possible to your requested spot, within safe access limits
  • If access is restricted on arrival, we may need to adjust placement or reschedule with additional equipment

5) HIAB / CRANE REQUIREMENTS

In some locations, a HIAB or crane may be required (for example: tight access, lifting over obstacles, sloped sites, or restricted placement areas).

If a HIAB/crane is likely, we’ll flag it early and talk you through the options before delivery is confirmed.

6) AFTER DELIVERY

Once your shed/cabin is in place:

  • We'll run a quick check on door operation and access
  • If needed, minor leveling can improve door performance over time
  • For long-term care, a gentle wash once or twice a year helps keep the exterior looking sharp (more often in coastal areas)

7) CHANGES TO THIS PROCESS

We may update our delivery process from time to time. The updated version will be published on our website with a new effective date.
